Our GAPA Teachers

Gymnastics - Daryl Townsend

Daryl has competed at regional and national levels at the British Tumbling Trials. He has coached gymnastics for many years and he has also competed at the British University Championships for 3 years. Daryl has taken many gymnasts to regional competitions and choreographed gymnastics floor routines for competition for which he has been commended for.

Street - Louis Lewinson

Louis Lewinson is a self taught, urban styled international choreographer from Coventry, England. Being 22 years old and having danced for a total of 9 years he has travelled globally to perform and deliver workshops in several different countries and cities and has also been involved in TV work. Louis does choreography for theatres, academies and dance schools and train other dancers of all ages in his style.

Modern, Tap - Lois Pickering

Lois trained for 3 years at a professional performing arts college (LCPA) since graduating, she had the opportunities to tour the UK in various musicals; such as White Christmas in which she played main character Judy Haynes. Lois danced on MOVE IT main stage in London, performed in front of hundreds at Sadler Wells and Royal Albert hall. She also appeared as a dancer in the children's film 'Nativity 3’.

Ballet - Vincent Cabot

Vincent began his training at the Choreographic Center Michèle Darcy, before joining the National School of Dance of Marseille.  

He started his career in 2004 at the European Ballet, where he quickly made Principal Dancer. He danced many  roles, performing in the repertoire of  Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker , Cinderella to name but a few. 

Looking to diversify his skills he moved to Germany where he performed for a year at the Deutsche Tanzkompanie in Neustrelitz in Folklore "Tanzlutz", Musical "Sorbas" and Neo-classical "Snow White", "Carmina Burana". 

 Back in England, he joined the Ballet Theater UK where he stayed for 5 years, creating major parts of their repertoire, from the main classics (Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker , Swan Lake) to the creation of "Snow Queen", 'A Christmas Carol", "Alice in Wonderland", and "the Little Mermaid".... 

 Since 2016, Vincent has turned his focus to teaching the new generation of dancers whilst continuing to perform himself. He is currently appearing with the Chantry Contemporary Ballet Company in their production of Dracula whilst  teaching Ballet . 

In 2018, he followed the BBO teaching qualification and get graduate with merit. 

Drama - Joy Moloney

Joy found her love for drama as a teenager at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. It was soon after that they Joy knew she wanted to be a Drama teacher. After training at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama, she completed her PGCE in Drama Education in Birmingham. Now with over fifteen years of teaching experience, Joy has trained hundreds of students in Drama and Acting in Secondary Schools around Coventry, Birmingham, Leicestershire and even Florida.

Joy is fanatical about the Performing Arts. Although teaching is a major part of Joy’s life, she has directed some fantastic school productions. Some of these plays received high praise from adjudicators in Birmingham and Florida.

Joy believes that Performing Arts is so important in young peoples’ lives; it develops their confidence, creativity and communication skills.  Many other transferable skills such as public speaking, team building, self-discipline and problem solving also grow.

Joy is delighted to be back in the GAPA team as the Drama teacher.

Assistant teachers

Georgia Morris    

 

Georgia has been a dedicated student of GAPA since the academy opened. She enjoys dancing and performing as there are many different styles and feels it is great way to express yourself.

Georgia has a passion for teaching; she loves to see the younger student’s progress whilst having fun and has excellent rapport with all students. Georgia loves being a part of the GAPA family and thinks the academy is so welcoming. She is currently studying dance at Coventry City College doing a  BTEC Level 3 extended diploma in Dance. 

Rebeca Mara 

 

Rebeca has a desire to thrive within dance and the Arts overall. Having the opportunity to teach the younger students on a Saturday has been a great way to massively boost her confidence and also widen her skill set. Rebeca adores the little ones and loves to see them exceed and progress with us at GAPA. Rebeca has recently just finished her GCSE's and passed in GSCE dance. She is now going through further training with GAPA and hoping to eventually pursue a future career in the arts. 

Jasmine Bromfield

Jasmine is a senior student as well as an assistant who enjoys every discipline of performing arts with a particular passion for singing. Jasmine enjoys assisting just as much as she loves training at GAPA and hopes to one day perform on the West end and around the world. GAPA has been a platform for Jasmine to widen her performance skills which landed her a role in the Birmingham Hippodromes production of West Side Story. Jasmine hopes to pursue a career in performing arts after her A levels.

Channon Sard

Channon is a senior student as well as a teaching assistant at GAPA. She has always had a real passion for dance as well as all other aspects of performing arts. Channon loves assisting as it allows her to be a role model for younger students and nurture them. GAPA has definitely brought out the best in Channon and has always pushed her to do her best in order to expand her skill set within all styles of dance and performing arts as a whole. It has also become a real eye opener for her as she hopes to continue training at GAPA to pursue a career in the industry. 

Rajan Birdi    

 

Rajan loves assisting and helping out at GAPA. Rajan has always had a joy in dancing  and so began training in different dance styles with GAPA as a senior student and over time his strongest style has grown to be street. Being a part of the team has given him greater confidence as well as widening his abilities and furthering his love for dance as a hobby.

He enjoys how GAPA pushes all students towards their full potentials while also ensuring everyone has fun while doing so. He currently assists with the younger students in street alongside Sir Louis and also manages the website.
